Book: Wedding Guest Book
Video:
About the Project:
This work was made as a wedding gift for two dear friends. This is my first project since traveling to Japan to study my art with a master bookbinder. Many of the techniques that I learned from my sensei made this book come to life.
The cover features a clean window, allowing a peek at the Spanish hand-marbled paper within.
This book will be at the door during the wedding, where guests are encouraged to write a note to the couple. With this use in mind, it was important to bind the book such that it lays flat on the table under its own weight.
The front, back, and spine are wrapped in sage green Japanese bookcloth with a raised corduroy-like texture.
